Irish Postgraduate and Early Career Economics (IPECE) Workshop 2023

Extended submission deadline

Call for papers

We invite PhD students and early career economists to submit their extended abstracts or research papers for consideration for the Irish Postgraduate and Early Career Economics (IPECE) Workshop 2023.

This year’s IPECE Workshop will be hosted by Technological University Dublin on 19 and 20 January 2023. The workshop will be held in person in TU Dublin, City Campus, Aungier Street, Dublin 2. There is no registration fee for the event.

The workshop is aimed at PhD students, postdoctoral, and early career researchers. The meeting will provide an excellent opportunity to engage with research results and work-in-progress in a welcoming and constructive environment. We encourage those working on economics research, based on the island of Ireland, to attend.

The workshop will include a panel discussion where experienced economists from different sectors will offer advice on career paths and progression. There will also be a training session on ‘Common Pitfalls in Causal Research Designs’ given by Dr. Benjamin Elsner (UCD).

A keynote panel discussion on ‘Career Paths and Progression’ with advice from

  • Prof. Carol Newman, Professor in Economics, Trinity College Dublin.
  • Dr. Sinéad Kelleher, Head of Economics, The Housing Agency.
  • Dr. Séin Ó Muineacháin, Head of EMEA-APAC Economic Graph Research and Insights, LinkedIn.
